Wet Your Whistle in the Poconos


Visit a winery, micro-brewery or sample distilled spirits at locations around the town. Pocono beer, wine and spirits are curated for your enjoyment using local ingredients while crafting their specialties. Once you find your favorite, take a case, bottle or growler home with you.

1. Blue Ridge Winery

Enjoy 360-degree views of the vineyard and local mountains at Blue Ridge Winery nestled in the hills of Saylorsburg, PA. A family-owned business, the vision was to create an elegant, yet relaxing and informal experience. Owner and wine maker Randy Detrick has years of crafting world class wine experience and is now sharing it with his customers. Free wine cellar tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday along with live music. Wine tastings are daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and extends to 9:00 PM on Fridays. A catered gourmet dinner is also featured on Friday evenings, no RSVP required.

2. Mountain View Vineyard Winery

Mountain View Vineyard has become the perfect destination for a relaxing afternoon. Try some of the finest wine, beer, and distilled spirits produced in the Poconos. The vineyard provides products made with the least amount of chemical intervention in the vineyard, winemaking, and brewing process. After a tasting, enjoy food from the bistro and enjoy the views of the beautiful mountain ranges from the wrap around porch.

3. Pocono Brewery Company (PBC)

Come to Pocono Brewery Company to enjoy one-of-a-kind craft beer, hand tossed pizza, and pub classics. PBC owners, the Vitiellos, have a philosophy of “finding those few key, quality ingredients and letting the flavors come together into a tasteful masterpiece.” Visit the family-friendly restaurant located in Swiftwater, PA that strives to create an atmosphere of excitement and comfort. The Vitiellos also recently opened a PBC Taproom in Lehigh Valley that serves a more limited food menu than the Swiftwater location but still features their signature crafts and pizzas.

4. Barley Creek Brewing Company

Labeled the Pocono Mountains’ original brewpub, Barley Creek has brewed more than 100 different styles of beer and opened a small-batch distillery for vodka, whiskey, rum, and other spirits. Barley Creek serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night fare seven days a week. Beer and spirits are made on site and brewery tours are offered every day at 12:30 PM. Taste and unwind at this microbrewery, distillery and restaurant.

5. Sorrenti Cherry Valley Vineyards

Located in the heart of Cherry Valley, enjoy the lovely views of the surrounding mountains while at the vineyard. Sorrenti is known for its variety of wines that offer flavors to suit any palate. Wine tastings are offered daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, as long with a pizzeria that serves small plates, salads, and brick oven pizza. The winery also allows entrance to the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Guests are invited to explore the reserve and learn about the diversity and importance of the area.

6. Tolino Vineyards

Tolino Vineyards is a family owned business that is committed to growing the finest grapes and hand crafting artisanal wines. The unique terrain of the vineyard aids in the creation of an impressive selection of wines. Visit the tasting room in Bangor, PA to sample the collection of wines and enjoy cheese and other light snacks. Tolino Vineyards holds year-round events which includes live music, Family Friday Nights, Summer Sangria Sunday, and more!

7. Raw Urban Winery & Hard Cidery

An urban winery is where the wine producer chooses to locate their winemaking facility in an urban setting rather than the traditional rural setting near the vineyards. Raw Urban Winery does not have its own vineyard but instead sources its fruits from farmers. The winery tasting room is a few feet from the Barrel Room where guests can tour and see the tanks and equipment. Raw Urban looks to share views of their wine making with the public and educate those who have a passion for wine.
