the Pocono spotlight:

Sango Kura

To showcase some of the incredible businesses located in The Pocono Mountains, we’ve created —
The Pocono Spotlight.

Pennsylvania’s first and only Sake Brewery can be found 15 miles from our home in the Delaware Water Gap. It’s called Sango Kura, (Sango means Coral which is the owner’s daughter’s name, and Kura means brewery).

As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice there are board and card games scattered through the brewery for you and yours to use, a comforting and unique touch. The owners, Jay and Michelle, love educating people about their product and sake in general, creating a fun atmosphere in which to do so. They even offer tours of the brewery for $20 per person, including tasting off the tank and a signature sake flight.

Their most ordered Sake are Sake is My Passion sake-tail (junmai ginjo, passionfruit, fresh lime, and ginger beer) and sake sangrias (berry, lemonade, peach cranberry, tropical, and peach ginger).

They operate Thursday through Sunday from 2 to 9:00 p.m. and offer much more than Sake. You can get their signature hand-pulled ramen, combined with one of their homemade broths and all the usual ramen accompaniments. Sango Kura has plenty of upcoming events which are updated on Eventbrite. As always, let our concierge know if you’re interested in booking a tour or if there are any events you’re interested in.

Make sure to reach out to our concierge to facilitate your experience.
